Agnese is the synthesis, the representative of all the women who have started from a simple closed life of hard work and poor family to open one passage after another in the thought limited to small things, to find themselves in the crowd that has built the road to freedom. If it hadn't been for them, the women, workers, laborers, peasants, of the plains and mountains, who got used to "men's things", and little by little they understood each one according to their own intelligence, with courage and fear, that "this" had to be done, that only that was the way forward, the partisan army would lack a living, necessary, often decisive force. The woman of the people is a fighter, when she fights for herself and for her people, both against poverty in peace and for life in war, the partisan war not cursed as that of conquest, but accepted and conducted to win over the enemies of every time, homeland oppressors and foreign aggressors.

To understand the importance of the Resistance, it is necessary to know the facts of the Second World War in Italy, in particular the Armistice of 8 September 1943 and its consequences.
